About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative Precision Agriculture Specialist to implement and manage advanced technology solutions for farms in the Norwich region. This role focuses on utilizing GPS, sensors, data analytics, and variable rate technology to optimize crop production, minimize environmental impact, and enhance farm profitability. You will work closely with farmers to integrate these technologies, train staff, and provide ongoing support to ensure the effective application of precision farming techniques. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance, VRT equipment, and sensors.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various precision ag sources to inform management decisions.
- Develop site-specific management zones for variable rate applications of fertilizer, seed, and crop protection products.
- Provide training and technical support to farmers and farm staff on the use of precision agriculture equipment and software.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of precision agriculture strategies and recommend adjustments.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and advancements in the field of precision farming.
Requirements
- Degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with precision agriculture technologies and farm management software.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, GIS, and mapping principles.
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with agricultural operations and challenges in the Norwich area is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
