About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Preschool Assistant to join their vibrant team in Edinburgh . This role involves assisting lead teachers in creating a positive and stimulating learning environment for preschool-aged children. You will help facilitate classroom activities, support children's social and emotional development, and maintain a safe and organized learning space. This hybrid role offers a blend of direct engagement with children and opportunities for remote preparation and collaboration, contributing to the foundational education of young learners in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in delivering engaging preschool curriculum and daily activities.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through positive interactions.
- Prepare classroom materials and learning environments, ensuring a tidy and safe space.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning and the assessment of children's progress.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff, parents, and guardians regarding children's activities and development.
Requirements
- A qualification in Early Years Education or a related field (e.g., Level 2 or 3).
- Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- A genuine passion for early childhood education and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Basic understanding of safeguarding procedures and health and safety in a childcare setting.
- Willingness to adapt to a hybrid work model, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
