Preschool Assistant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Preschool Assistant to join their dedicated team in Norwich . This role focuses on supporting lead teachers in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 3-4 years, helping them prepare for primary school. You will assist in delivering engaging activities, supporting children's learning and development, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and possess a friendly, patient disposition, contributing to a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the preschool setting, and working closely with colleagues and parents to foster each child's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in delivering daily educational activities and routines.
• Support children's learning and development through play-based activities.
• Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of all children in the preschool room.
• Help prepare learning materials and maintain a tidy and organised classroom environment.
• Observe and document children's progress, contributing to assessment records.
• Communicate with parents about their child's day and development.

Requirements

• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education is preferred.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children.
• A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A patient, caring, and responsible attitude towards children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
