About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and caring Primary School Support Worker to assist in a Year 1 classroom at a friendly school in Wolverhampton . This role is crucial in supporting the class teacher to provide a stimulating and safe learning environment for young children. You will assist with classroom activities, pupil supervision, and general support duties, helping to foster positive development and engagement. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, patient, and has a genuine interest in supporting the educational journey of primary-aged children, contributing to a positive and productive classroom atmosphere where every child feels valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering planned learning activities and supporting individual pupils' educational needs within the Year 1 classroom.
- Provide general support in the classroom, including preparing materials, tidying, and maintaining a stimulating learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during lessons, playtime, lunchtimes, and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support pupils with their learning, behaviour, and personal care needs as directed by the class teacher.
- Help to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom atmosphere in Wolverhampton .
- Support the school's policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding and child protection.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting is desirable.
- A good understanding of the development of primary school-aged children, particularly in Year 1 .
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a caring attitude towards children.
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including safeguarding and first aid.
