About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Principal Analytical Chemist to lead their analytical services department in Wolverhampton . This senior role is responsible for developing, validating, and implementing sophisticated analytical methods to support research, development, and quality control activities. You will manage a team of analytical chemists, oversee the operation of advanced instrumentation, and ensure the accuracy and reliability of all analytical data. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods using a range of techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, MS, spectroscopy).
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the analytical laboratory, ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
• Manage and mentor a team of analytical chemists, providing technical guidance and performance feedback.
• Troubleshoot complex analytical problems and ensure the timely resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments to meet analytical testing needs.
• Stay current with advancements in analytical instrumentation and methodologies.

Requirements

• PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in analytical chemistry, with a strong track record in method development and validation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of scientists.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality systems relevant to the industry.
