About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Architect to lead significant projects and provide senior technical expertise within their prestigious Cambridge practice. This role demands a proven track record in design leadership, project delivery, and client management across a variety of complex architectural typologies. You will be instrumental in shaping the design direction, mentoring the architectural team, and ensuring the highest standards of design quality and technical execution. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design strategy and technical development for major architectural projects from inception to completion.
- Oversee and guide project teams, ensuring high-quality design output and efficient project delivery.
- Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and managing client expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, planning policies, and professional standards.
- Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions that meet project objectives and site constraints.
- Contribute to practice development, including mentoring junior staff and fostering a culture of design excellence.
Requirements
- Full professional qualification as an Architect (ARB/RIBA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Extensive experience leading complex, large-scale architectural projects, ideally within sectors relevant to Cambridge 's growth.
- Exceptional design talent, creativity, and a strong portfolio demonstrating design leadership.
- Proficiency in leading architectural software, including Revit and relevant visualisation tools.
- Strong understanding of construction technology, materials, and contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
