About the Role
Our client is searching for an exceptional Principal Automotive Software Architect to lead their innovative, fully remote engineering division. This senior role is instrumental in defining the strategic direction for the company's software-defined vehicle architecture. You will be responsible for designing high-level software structures, setting technical standards, and guiding development teams to build scalable, secure, and cutting-edge automotive software solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Define and document the overall software architecture for next-generation automotive systems, including ECUs, infotainment, and ADAS.
- Establish and enforce software development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
- Lead the technical design and decision-making process for complex software modules and interfaces.
- Collaborate with product management, systems engineering, and external partners to translate vision into technical roadmaps.
- Mentor and guide software development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and propose architectural enhancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on automotive software architecture .
- Deep understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet).
- Proven experience in designing scalable, modular, and secure software architectures.
- Familiarity with safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles in the automotive domain.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills, essential for a remote leadership role.
