About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Principal Civil Engineer to lead their infrastructure planning and design efforts, operating on a fully remote basis. This senior role will involve shaping the strategic direction of major civil engineering projects, providing expert technical leadership, and mentoring a geographically dispersed team. You will be instrumental in developing innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions for clients across the UK, with a focus on conceptualisation and early-stage design, contributing significantly to the future growth and development of our client's capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, conceptualisation, and feasibility studies for large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Provide senior technical guidance and oversight on design development, ensuring best practices are followed.
• Develop and implement innovative engineering strategies to address complex infrastructure challenges.
• Manage and mentor a team of civil engineers and technicians, fostering collaboration and professional growth remotely.
• Engage with key stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies to define project requirements and secure approvals.

Requirements

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) with significant experience (10+ years) in civil engineering, specialising in infrastructure planning and design.
• Demonstrated expertise in leading complex multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of current UK infrastructure policy, environmental considerations, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven experience in managing and motivating remote teams and fostering a collaborative virtual work environment.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficiency with advanced engineering software and digital design tools.
