Principal Civil Engineer - Wastewater Modeller

Responsibilities

• Support team leads in managing project delivery, supervising tasks and reviewing deliverables.
• Develop urban drainage modelling capability, staying current and training junior members.
• Assist the team lead in managing the work of the local technical delivery team.
• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support the wastewater team, influencing future efficient delivery approaches.
• Exercise independent engineering judgement and provide innovative solutions to engineering problems.
• Develop and maintain excellent client relationships at all levels, coordinating project meetings internally and with clients.
• Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
• Promote the company brand through industry forums and conferences.
• Contribute to team learning through knowledge sharing exercises.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed on the journey to chartership with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Demonstrated experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling (InfoWorks ICM) and ability to check technical outputs before issue.
• Good working knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, the Code of Practice for Hydraulic Modelling of Urban Drainage Systems and relevant British Standards.
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.
