About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their innovative team, offering remote work flexibility with occasional travel to their Milton Keynes base. This senior role will involve taking ownership of complex civil engineering projects, providing strategic technical leadership, and driving innovation within the firm. You will be responsible for high-level design reviews, client liaison, and contributing to the company's technical strategy, working on a range of significant national and international infrastructure initiatives. This is a key position for an accomplished engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical leadership and strategic direction for complex civil engineering projects.
- Oversee the conceptualization, design, and implementation of large-scale infrastructure developments.
- Conduct advanced technical reviews of designs, calculations, and project plans to ensure optimal solutions.
- Lead client engagement, proposal development, and business development activities.
- Mentor and develop senior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company at high-level technical forums and industry events.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related advanced technical field.
- Extensive experience at a Principal or Director level within civil engineering consultancy.
- Demonstrated expertise in complex infrastructure design, project management, and construction oversight.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams in a remote working environment.
- Strong understanding of financial management and commercial aspects of engineering projects.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional body is mandatory.
