Overview

Principal Civil Engineer – London. £75k-£80k plus 15% bonus. Our client is a leading international engineering consultancy with an outstanding reputation for delivering world-class data centre projects across the globe. They are looking to appoint a Principal Civil Engineer to lead the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical developments.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist team focused exclusively on data centres, working on technically challenging projects from initial site planning through to detailed design and construction support.

Responsibilities

Lead the civil engineering design of complex developments, taking responsibility for external site layouts that maximise capacity, accessibility and operational efficiency.
Oversee the design and coordination of underground infrastructure, including drainage, utilities, fuel systems and service routes.
Deliver site infrastructure solutions covering roads, hardstanding, security perimeters and landscaping.
Interpret ground investigation data and develop practical foundation strategies in collaboration with structural engineering teams.
Provide technical leadership, manage multidisciplinary project teams, mentor junior engineers and build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Ensure designs are delivered to the highest technical standards, on programme and within budget.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering with significant UK consultancy experience delivering infrastructure design projects.
Strong expertise in highways, drainage and external works.
Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
Chartered status (CEng MICE), or nearing CEng, would be highly desirable.
