Emtech Recruitment is currently working with a leading engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their growing Leeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior or Principal-level engineer to take a key role within a multidisciplinary team, working on a varied range of projects across the built environment.

The Role

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects, providing technical leadership and supporting the development of the wider engineering team.

Current projects include:

Residential developments Commercial buildings Schools and hospitals Industrial projects Waste handling and recycling facilities Prison and public-sector buildings Decarbonisation and energy-related projectsYour responsibilities will include:

Producing and overseeing technical designs, calculations and specifications Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams Managing project delivery, priorities and resources Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders Maintaining high technical and quality standards Supporting the continued growth and development of the Leeds team

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

A degree or Master's qualification in Civil Engineering 10+ years' experience within civil and structural engineering Strong experience designing and delivering complex construction projects Chartered Engineer status, or be working towards Chartership Good knowledge of relevant design standards, codes and regulations Experience with industry-standard civil/structural engineering software Strong communication and client-facing skills A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approach A full UK driving licence
