Cromwell Medical Staffing is currently recruiting an experienced Band 8b Principal Clinical Psychologist to join one of our NHS clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake highly specialist psychological assessments for patients with complex psychological, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
- Develop psychological formulations and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Manage and maintain a specialist clinical caseload, ensuring accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate specialist psychological treatment programmes tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide expert psychological consultation and advice to multidisciplinary teams and partner services.
- Offer clinical supervision, mentoring, and professional support to qualified psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists, and other healthcare staff.
Essential Requirements
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Significant post-qualification experience working as a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS or equivalent healthcare setting.
- Experience managing complex psychological presentations and specialist clinical caseloads.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and leadership to psychology staff and trainees.
- Excellent formulation, assessment, and therapeutic intervention skills.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience working at Band 8a/8b level within the NHS.
- Experience in service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement.
- Knowledge of current NHS mental health policies and psychological service frameworks.
- Experience contributing to teaching, training, and research activities.
