Principal Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an exceptional Principal Cloud Engineer to join their fully remote, high-performing engineering team. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on architecting, building, and managing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of adopting new cloud technologies and practices, driving automation, and ensuring the reliability of critical systems. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, testing, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Establish and maintain robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, championing cloud best practices and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 4 years focused on cloud environments.
• Deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure as code tools.
• Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and distributed systems.
