Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced computational and statistical methodologies to analyze diverse biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
- Develop and maintain robust data analysis pipelines and software tools to support research objectives.
- Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to translate complex biological questions into testable computational hypotheses.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of computational biologists and bioinformaticians.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, machine learning, and AI, and integrate them into the research workflow.
- Communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and publications.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with a strong focus on biological data analysis.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with biological databases and ontologies.
- Proven experience in developing and managing large-scale data analysis projects and leading scientific teams.
- Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and their application in biological research.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote setting.
