Principal Computational Biologist - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Computational Biologist to join their innovative research team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will play a key role in analyzing large-scale biological datasets, developing predictive models, and driving key research initiatives forward. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement computational strategies for analyzing complex genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.
• Develop and validate bioinformatic pipelines and algorithms for data processing and interpretation.
• Build and apply machine learning models to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to guide research directions and interpret results.
• Present findings to internal teams, scientific conferences, and potentially in publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and related fields.

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• At least 7 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics research, with a focus on large-scale data analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries and tools.
• Strong experience with statistical analysis , machine learning techniques, and database management.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
