Principal Computational Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Computational Chemist to join their advanced research team in Milton Keynes . This senior position will play a critical role in designing and executing computational chemistry strategies to accelerate the discovery of novel compounds. You will leverage state-of-the-art computational tools and methodologies to guide experimental efforts, significantly contributing to the company's pipeline of innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Apply computational chemistry techniques, including molecular modeling, docking, and virtual screening, to guide drug design efforts.
• Develop and refine computational models to predict molecular properties, reactivity, and biological activity.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, and other scientists to integrate computational insights into discovery projects.
• Manage and analyze large datasets generated from computational simulations and high-throughput screening.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new computational methodologies and software tools at our Milton Keynes site.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Cheminformatics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in computational chemistry within the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
• Expertise in molecular modeling software (e.g., Schrodinger, MOE, Discovery Studio) and associated techniques.
• Strong programming skills in Python or other relevant scripting languages are essential.
• Proven ability to interpret complex computational results and communicate them effectively to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
