Principal Consultant - Operational Excellence

About the Role

Our client, a renowned management consultancy , is seeking a distinguished Principal Consultant with expertise in Operational Excellence to join their esteemed practice in Milton Keynes . This senior position requires a strategic thinker capable of driving significant improvements in client operational performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for leading large-scale operational improvement projects, developing best practices, and guiding clients through complex process re-engineering and Lean Six Sigma initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to make a substantial impact on client organizations and contribute to the strategic direction of our consultancy practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engagements focused on enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and quality across client organizations.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, waste reduction, and continuous improvement using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
• Conduct comprehensive operational assessments, identify key performance gaps, and propose data-driven solutions.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on operational excellence principles for client teams.
• Build robust relationships with senior client executives, acting as a trusted advisor on operational matters.
• Contribute to the development of proprietary tools and methodologies for operational improvement.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in operational consulting, process improvement, or related fields.
• Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred), and other operational excellence frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex transformation programs and achieving tangible operational gains.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
