Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant - Security Architect to support the secure development and integration of AI, data analytics, and edge computing capabilities within operational environments.
Working with technical, operational, and assurance stakeholders, you will assess existing solutions, define secure architectures, and support accreditation activities. The role includes a mixture of remote working, Bristol-based collaboration, and travel to customer sites including Bulford.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead security architecture activities across AI, data analytics, and edge technology programmes
- Assess current solutions and design secure target-state architectures
- Conduct security reviews, threat assessments, and risk analysis
- Support the secure integration of AI-enabled capabilities into operational environments
- Produce security documentation, risk assessments, and assurance artefacts
- Work with customers, assurance teams, and security authorities to achieve approvals
- Advise on security controls, governance, and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure security is embedded throughout the solution lifecycle
- Support technical workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement
- Provide guidance on securing solutions in disconnected and edge environments
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Security Architect or Lead Security Consultant in defence, government, or other highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of security architecture principles and frameworks
- Experience designing secure infrastructure, network, application, and data solutions
- Background in accreditation, assurance, risk management, and security governance
- Understanding of AI, machine learning, data analytics, or emerging technology security challenges
- Experience with edge computing, distributed systems, or disconnected environments
- Strong documentation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
- Ability to identify risks and recommend practical security mitigations
- Willingness to travel regularly across the UK, including Bristol and Bulford
