Principal DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly experienced and strategic Principal DevOps Engineer to join their established remote team. This role is pivotal in shaping and implementing the company's cloud infrastructure and CI/CD strategies. As a remote-first contributor, you will be empowered to drive significant improvements in system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across all environments. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native solutions, ensuring our engineering teams can deploy software rapidly and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Architect and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS or Azure.
• Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Develop and enforce best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting across all services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other members of the DevOps team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related infrastructure engineering roles.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and system administration.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects and mentor engineers in a remote setting.
