About the Role
Our client is seeking a distinguished Principal Electrical Engineer with expertise in Building Services to join their esteemed engineering consultancy in Manchester . This senior position involves providing strategic technical leadership on a wide array of high-profile projects, from conceptual design to final handover. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of electrical design and performance in commercial, residential, and public buildings, guiding a team of engineers and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical direction and leadership for electrical building services design across diverse project portfolios.
- Develop innovative and sustainable electrical design solutions, ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and energy efficiency standards.
- Oversee the creation of detailed electrical designs, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors on electrical matters.
- Conduct technical reviews, audits, and site inspections to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
- Mentor and develop the capabilities of the building services electrical engineering team.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the IET or equivalent.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in electrical building services design, preferably within a consultancy environment.
- Deep understanding of low and high-voltage electrical systems, emergency power, and integrated smart building technologies.
- Proficiency in electrical design software, including BIM (Building Information Modeling) platforms like Revit.
- Exceptional client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
