About the Role

Our client, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to lead significant projects from their Manchester base. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of large-scale electrical systems for renewable energy projects (e.g., wind, solar, battery storage).
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, fostering a culture of high performance.
• Develop and review complex electrical engineering designs, specifications, and calculations for major projects.
• Engage with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams, to ensure project success and alignment.
• Oversee the technical aspects of procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring project delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering , specializing in power systems or renewable energy.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in a senior or principal engineering role, with a strong track record in renewable energy projects.
• In-depth knowledge of grid codes, interconnection standards, and power system stability.
• Proven ability to lead and manage complex engineering projects and teams.
• Expertise in high-voltage equipment, power electronics, and substation design.
• Excellent strategic thinking, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
