Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Electrical Engineer to lead their advanced electrical engineering initiatives within a remote-first working model, servicing clients across the UK, including those in Reading . This senior position requires a deep technical expertise and a proven ability to drive innovation and strategic direction in electrical system design and development. You will act as a technical authority, mentor junior engineers, and contribute significantly to complex, high-profile projects, ensuring technical excellence and project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for electrical engineering projects.
- Design and develop complex electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct advanced analyses, including system modelling, simulation, and feasibility studies.
- Mentor and guide a team of electrical engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on design and system architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise in power systems, control systems, or specialized electrical engineering domains.
- Proven experience in leading complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle highly challenging technical issues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
