Principal Firmware Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Firmware Engineer to lead their firmware development efforts in a fully remote capacity. This is a senior technical role focused on the architecture, design, and implementation of sophisticated firmware for advanced hardware products. You will be instrumental in defining firmware strategies, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and development of complex firmware for embedded systems and hardware products.
• Write high-quality, efficient, and well-documented firmware code, primarily in C/C++.
• Develop and maintain firmware drivers, bootloaders, and operating system components.
• Optimize firmware for performance, power consumption, and memory usage.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define product requirements and ensure successful integration.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in firmware development and embedded systems design.
• Proven expertise in C/C++ programming and assembly language.
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, microcontrollers, and embedded operating systems.
• Experience with hardware-software co-design, debugging, and testing methodologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives in a remote environment.
