Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE Location: London
An established consultancy is looking for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join their London team. This is a senior technical position offering the opportunity to lead complex geotechnical projects, provide technical expertise and support the development of junior engineers.
The Role
You'll take a leading role across a variety of geotechnical projects, from ground investigation and design through to construction, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing complex geotechnical projects Reviewing ground investigation information and developing ground models Undertaking and reviewing geotechnical design calculations Foundation, retaining wall and earthworks design Slope stability and settlement assessments Producing and reviewing geotechnical interpretative reports Providing technical input into ground investigation specifications Liaising with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams Reviewing technical work and providing guidance to junior engineers Supporting fee proposals, tenders and business development Managing project budgets, programmes and technical deliverables
About You
Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline Significant experience within UK geotechnical consultancy Strong technical knowledge across geotechnical design and ground investigation Experience with Eurocodes and relevant British Standards Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership Strong report writing and client-facing skills Experience mentoring and technically supervising junior staff Full UK driving licence
