Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Mechanical Engineer to spearhead critical projects within the energy sector in Southampton . This senior leadership role involves providing expert technical direction and oversight for the design, analysis, and implementation of complex mechanical systems and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical leadership and expertise in the design and analysis of mechanical systems for energy infrastructure projects.
- Develop and execute complex engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Conduct advanced stress analysis , fatigue analysis, and performance simulations using sophisticated CAE tools.
- Lead design reviews, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies for critical mechanical components and systems.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery from conception to commissioning.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 12+ years of extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on the energy sector (e.g., oil & gas, renewables, power generation).
- Proven expertise in the design and analysis of high-pressure systems, rotating machinery, or large-scale mechanical structures.
- Advanced proficiency with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and other relevant engineering analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and managing complex engineering projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
