Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their established team in a 100% remote capacity. This senior role is responsible for defining the technical direction of major mechanical engineering projects and driving innovation across the organization. You will work on challenging problems, provide expert technical leadership, and mentor a team of engineers. The ideal candidate is a thought leader in mechanical engineering with a proven ability to deliver complex solutions and contribute significantly to strategic technical roadmaps, all while working effectively from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical leadership and strategic direction for complex mechanical engineering initiatives.
• Design, develop, and optimise advanced mechanical systems and components from concept to production.
• Conduct in-depth analysis, simulation (FEA, CFD), and validation to ensure superior performance and reliability.
• Develop and implement best practices in mechanical design, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Mentor and guide senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with product management, R&D, and other engineering disciplines in a remote setting.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related advanced field.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on design and analysis.
• Proven expertise in leading large-scale mechanical engineering projects and driving technical innovation.
• Exceptional proficiency with advanced CAD/CAE tools and simulation software.
• Strong understanding of system-level design, integration, and product development lifecycles.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and strong leadership qualities suitable for remote management.
