About the Role
Our client is looking for a distinguished Principal Process Engineer to join their innovative team, contributing to the design and optimization of processes within the energy sector from a remote capacity. This senior role involves leading complex process engineering projects, developing innovative solutions, and providing technical expertise across a range of upstream and downstream applications. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability in our clients' operations. The ideal candidate is a thought leader with a deep understanding of chemical and process engineering principles, capable of mentoring junior engineers and influencing project direction at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of complex chemical and physical process flows for energy-related projects.
- Conduct rigorous process simulations and modeling to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and safety.
- Develop and implement P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operating procedures.
- Provide expert technical guidance on process safety management (PSM) and hazard analysis (HAZOP).
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level process engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution and integration of process designs.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of progressive experience as a Process Engineer , with a strong focus on the energy industry.
- Expertise in process design, simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and P&ID development.
- In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics , fluid mechanics, and heat and mass transfer.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and performing HAZOP studies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
