About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly innovative Principal Research Scientist with a specialization in Nanomaterials to join their advanced R&D team in Plymouth . You will lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel nanomaterials for a variety of high-impact applications. Key Responsibilities

• Lead research initiatives in the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced nanomaterials .
• Develop novel synthetic methodologies and scale-up processes for nanomaterial production.
• Utilize advanced characterization techniques (e.g., TEM, SEM, XRD, XPS) to understand material properties.
• Investigate structure-property relationships and explore new application areas for nanomaterials.
• Collaborate with engineers and product development teams to translate research findings into functional prototypes.
• Publish research findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.

Requirements

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with a focus on nanomaterials.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant research experience in the field of nanomaterials synthesis and characterization.
• Proven track record of leading research projects and publishing high-quality scientific work.
• Expertise in various nanomaterial synthesis techniques (e.g., chemical vapor deposition, sol-gel, hydrothermal).
• Proficiency with advanced electron microscopy and surface analysis techniques.
