About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Scientist in the field of Biotechnology to lead innovative research initiatives from their facility in Wolverhampton . This senior role will involve setting strategic research directions, managing complex projects, and mentoring a team of scientists. You will be at the forefront of developing novel biotechnological solutions, working with cutting-edge technologies to address critical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of scientific leadership, a deep understanding of molecular biology and bioprocesses, and a passion for translating scientific discoveries into tangible advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage research projects, defining scientific objectives and experimental strategies.
- Design and conduct complex experiments in molecular biology, cell biology, and bioprocessing.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological data, drawing meaningful conclusions and proposing next steps.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and research associates, fostering a high-performance research environment.
- Contribute to intellectual property generation and scientific publications, representing the company at conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Extensive experience in areas such as gene editing, recombinant protein expression, cell culture, or bioprocess development.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation of complex biological datasets.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
