Principal Scientist - Genomics and Proteomics

About the Role

Our client is seeking an outstanding Principal Scientist with extensive expertise in Genomics and Proteomics to lead critical research initiatives in their Manchester facility. You will be responsible for designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing large datasets, and driving innovation in the understanding of biological systems at the molecular level. This role involves providing scientific leadership, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate discoveries into potential therapeutic or diagnostic applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage cutting-edge genomics and proteomics research projects.
• Develop and optimize high-throughput screening assays and experimental protocols.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in genomics and/or proteomics research.
• Proven expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and mass spectrometry-based proteomics.
• Strong proficiency in bioinformatics tools, statistical analysis, and data visualization software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead scientific projects and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong publication record.
