Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, construction, and testing of synthetic biological circuits and pathways.
• Develop and optimize genetic engineering strategies for diverse host organisms.
• Oversee and mentor a team of research associates and scientists in a hybrid work setting.
• Drive projects from initial concept through proof-of-concept and towards scale-up.
• Collaborate with external partners and academic institutions to foster innovation.
• Contribute to intellectual property development and scientific publications.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant research experience in synthetic biology, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Extensive hands-on experience with genetic engineering techniques, DNA synthesis, and gene editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR).
• Strong understanding of metabolic engineering, pathway design, and microbial fermentation.
• Experience with bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis and pathway modeling is highly desirable.
