About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Principal Software Architect to guide the technical direction of their software development initiatives in Southampton . You will be responsible for defining and evolving the enterprise architecture, ensuring technical alignment across multiple development teams, and mentoring engineers on architectural principles. Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture and technical standards for the organization.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering leads to translate business strategy into technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to meet architectural requirements.
• Ensure the scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of all software solutions.
• Identify and address technical debt, promoting best practices in code quality and design.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in an architectural role.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, distributed systems.
• Deep knowledge of various architectural styles (e.g., Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
