About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Subsea Engineer to join their prestigious team in Sunderland , playing a key role in the design and execution of complex subsea projects within the offshore energy sector . This senior position requires a deep understanding of subsea systems, pipelines, and structures, coupled with strong leadership capabilities. You will be responsible for leading design innovation, ensuring technical integrity, and mentoring a team of engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual, FEED, and detailed design of subsea field developments, including pipelines, structures, and associated equipment.
- Develop technical specifications, scopes of work, and technical evaluations for subsea equipment and services.
- Oversee and perform structural analysis, stress analysis, and integrity assessments for subsea components.
- Manage and mentor a team of subsea engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices throughout the design and execution phases.
- Collaborate with project management, clients, and fabrication/installation contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in subsea engineering, with significant offshore project exposure.
- Expertise in subsea system design, pipeline engineering, and structural analysis.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, OrcaFlex).
- Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Familiarity with offshore installation methods and marine operations.
