About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Process Chemical Engineer to contribute to their manufacturing operations in Coventry . This role focuses on enhancing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining the highest standards of operational safety. You will be integral to troubleshooting and optimising existing chemical processes, as well as assisting in the development of new product lines. Working closely with the operations and R&D teams, you’ll play a key part in continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to apply their skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment within the vibrant West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse chemical processes to identify opportunities for improvement in yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Implement process changes and validate their effectiveness, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records.
- Collaborate with the safety team to conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
- Support the scale-up of new chemical processes from laboratory or pilot plant to full production.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, provide technical support to plant operators, and facilitate root cause analysis.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a process engineering role within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in process troubleshooting and optimisation techniques.
- Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and methodologies.
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation for process improvement.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a plant environment.
