Process Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role offers a hybrid working model, blending remote flexibility with essential on-site collaboration. You will be responsible for the design, development, and troubleshooting of chemical processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our client's manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles and a passion for optimizing industrial processes. You will work closely with plant operations and engineering departments to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally sound production, playing a vital role in maintaining high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor chemical processes to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to chemical processing equipment and procedures.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA) and implement mitigation strategies to enhance plant safety.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and quality control, to achieve production goals.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records.
• Contribute to capital expenditure projects by providing process engineering expertise and support for new equipment installations.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Proven experience in a chemical process engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for a hybrid work environment .
