Process Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Process Chemical Engineer to enhance their manufacturing operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of our production facilities. You will play a key part in analysing, designing, and improving chemical processes, contributing to operational excellence and innovation. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic team environment, leveraging advanced engineering principles to solve complex challenges and drive continuous improvement across the site, fostering a culture of technical expertise and collaboration in the Tyne and Wear region.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and evaluate current chemical processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and safety.
• Design and implement modifications to existing processes or develop new ones, ensuring they meet all regulatory and operational standards.
• Utilise process modelling and simulation tools to predict and validate process performance.
• Collaborate with site engineers and technicians to troubleshoot operational issues and implement effective solutions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Support the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and process changes.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a chemical process engineering role.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive process improvements.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and safety protocols relevant to the chemical industry.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, essential for a hybrid working model.
