About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the specialty chemicals sector, is seeking a dedicated Process Chemical Engineer to bolster their operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our manufacturing processes, focusing on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze plant operations to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.
- Develop and implement process modifications to enhance yield, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Support the commissioning and start-up of new equipment and process lines.
- Provide technical support to the operations team, assisting with troubleshooting and training.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a process engineering role within the chemical industry.
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) and risk assessments.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs and process flow diagrams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent communication skills.
