About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Process Control Engineer to join their team in Norwich . This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of process control systems to ensure efficient, safe, and stable operations. You will work on integrating advanced control strategies, troubleshooting automation issues, and improving overall process performance. This hybrid position allows for collaboration with on-site teams in Norfolk while offering flexibility for remote work on specific tasks and analysis, making it an attractive opportunity for an experienced control systems specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Design, configure, and implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Develop and tune advanced process control (APC) strategies to improve efficiency and product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process instrumentation and control loops.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to define control system requirements and specifications.
Develop and maintain control system documentation, including logic diagrams and P&IDs.
Stay updated on new control technologies and automation trends.

Requirements

BEng or MSc in Chemical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in process control engineering, preferably within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
Proficiency with DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Emerson) and associated software.
Strong understanding of process dynamics, PID control, and APC techniques.
Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) is desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
