Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Oxford . This role is integral to the conceptualization and detailed design of innovative chemical processes and facilities. You will work on challenging projects, translating client requirements into robust and efficient engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing plants.
• Perform process simulations and calculations, including mass and energy balances, to optimize designs.
• Select and specify process equipment, ensuring it meets technical and safety requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new process concepts.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations .
• Collaborate with project teams, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure integrated design solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in process design, ideally within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk assessment techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working on projects in the Oxfordshire region is beneficial.
