Process Development Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Process Development Chemical Engineer to join their innovative team based in Coventry . This role is crucial for advancing our product development pipeline by designing and refining chemical processes. You will be involved in bench-scale experimentation, pilot plant trials, and scaling up new technologies to meet production demands. Working within a state-of-the-art laboratory and pilot facility, you will collaborate closely with research scientists and manufacturing engineers to bring novel chemical products to market, embodying a commitment to scientific rigor and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize new chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes.
• Scale up laboratory processes to pilot plant and commercial production, identifying and mitigating scale-up challenges.
• Utilize process modeling and simulation tools to predict process behavior and optimize operating parameters.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Ensure all development activities comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate technology transfer and provide ongoing process support.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline (e.g., Chemistry with engineering experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in process development, R&D, or scale-up within the chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and pilot plant operations.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis methods.
• A strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, separation processes, and process safety.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
