Process Development Engineer - Biologics

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to join their innovative biologics manufacturing team in Reading . Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale up manufacturing processes for biologics, including upstream and downstream operations.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality and yield.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate new technologies and improve existing processes.
• Prepare detailed process development reports, batch records, and validation protocols.
• Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless process transfer and implementation.
• Ensure all process development activities adhere to regulatory guidelines (e.g., GMP) and internal quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience with cell culture (upstream) or purification (downstream) of biologics.
• Strong understanding of GMP regulations and their application in biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Proficiency in process modeling, statistical analysis, and experimental design (DoE).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
