About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Process Development Engineer to join their Fine Chemicals division in Bradford, West Yorkshire . This role focuses on optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new, more efficient methods for producing high-value chemical products. You will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory and pilot plant environment, translating laboratory discoveries into scalable manufacturing solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Optimize existing chemical manufacturing processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Design and execute experiments in laboratory and pilot plant settings to develop and validate new process technologies.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations.
- Collaborate with R&D chemists, analytical scientists, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
- Troubleshoot process deviations and implement robust solutions to maintain production quality and efficiency.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in chemical process development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in process development, scale-up, or optimization within the fine chemicals or pharmaceutical industries.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and pilot plant operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with process safety principles and hazard identification techniques.
