Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Norwich . This role is focused on the research, development, and implementation of new and improved manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will work on exciting projects, from concept validation through to full-scale production, collaborating with R&D, engineering, and production teams. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of process engineering principles and a passion for innovation within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct process validation studies and generate reports to confirm performance and reliability.
• Design and execute experiments to identify optimal process parameters and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new product designs.
• Create and update process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
• Support production teams in the implementation and transfer of new processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred).
• 2-4 years of experience in process development or manufacturing engineering.
• Familiarity with process design principles and statistical analysis.
• Experience with experimentation techniques (e.g., Design of Experiments - DoE).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Good technical writing and communication skills, specifically for the Norwich area.
