About the Role
Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Cardiff , Wales. This role is central to optimizing and advancing our manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and the introduction of new technologies. You will be instrumental in transforming concepts into robust, repeatable manufacturing solutions that meet stringent quality and cost targets. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment for product introduction.
- Conduct feasibility studies and pilot runs to assess the viability of new processes and technologies.
- Optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved yield, throughput, and cost reduction.
- Create detailed process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and validation protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and operations to ensure seamless process transfer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues during development and scale-up phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong understanding of process design, scale-up principles, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with relevant manufacturing technologies and equipment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in Cardiff .
