Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks an innovative Process Development Engineer to contribute to their advanced materials division based in Coventry . This role is focused on the research, development, and scale-up of novel chemical processes for specialty chemical production. You will work at the forefront of chemical innovation, translating laboratory discoveries into viable industrial applications. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize new chemical synthesis routes and separation processes.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and provide clear recommendations for process improvement.
• Develop and validate process models to predict performance and identify optimal operating conditions.
• Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to ensure smooth technology transfer from lab to pilot scale.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including lab reports, scale-up plans, and process descriptions.
• Ensure all development activities adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or chemical manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques relevant to chemical processes.
• Familiarity with process safety principles and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail.
