Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Process Development Engineer to join their manufacturing operations in Sheffield . This role is essential for optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance. You will work on transferring processes from R&D to manufacturing, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to influence the manufacturing of vital medicines within a leading pharmaceutical company in South Yorkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Transfer new processes from laboratory scale to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Conduct process validation studies and author validation reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance yield, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful process implementation and ongoing support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in process development or manufacturing engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Solid understanding of GMP principles and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
• Experience with process scale-up, validation, and technology transfer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
