About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for advancing our product development pipeline, focusing on scaling up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scale. You will be instrumental in translating research findings into robust, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes, working closely with R&D, operations, and quality assurance teams. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer passionate about innovation and process optimisation in a stimulating industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise chemical processes from laboratory scale through to pilot and full commercial production.
- Conduct experimental design, data analysis, and scale-up calculations to ensure process viability.
- Prepare detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and batch records.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to commission new equipment and processes.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
- Ensure all development activities comply with stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or chemical process engineering within an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in process modelling and simulation software.
- Solid understanding of unit operations, process control, and safety management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
