Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a skilled Process Development Engineer to enhance their product lines and manufacturing capabilities in Southampton . This role focuses on optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new ones to meet evolving market demands and regulatory requirements. You will be instrumental in translating laboratory innovations into scalable, efficient, and safe industrial operations, contributing to the company's technological advancement and competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct experimental work in laboratory and pilot plant settings to validate process parameters.
• Scale-up processes from laboratory bench to full production, ensuring robustness and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform techno-economic assessments for new process designs and improvements.
• Write detailed technical reports, specifications, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development or chemical process engineering.
• Experience with process modeling and simulation tools.
• Proven ability to conduct experimental design and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and unit operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
