About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to enhance their manufacturing capabilities in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is central to the innovation and improvement of chemical processes, focusing on developing new methodologies and scaling them from lab to pilot and commercial production. Working in a hybrid model, you will combine on-site laboratory and plant work with remote analysis and reporting. You will collaborate closely with research, engineering, and production teams to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective process implementation, contributing to the company's reputation for quality and innovation in the chemical sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes.
- Scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant and ultimately to full commercial production, addressing technical challenges.
- Develop detailed process descriptions, P&IDs, and operating procedures for new and modified processes.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and generate comprehensive technical reports.
- Collaborate with equipment engineers to specify and select appropriate processing equipment.
- Ensure all process development activities adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
- Experience with laboratory experimentation and pilot plant operations.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Familiarity with process safety principles and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, suitable for a hybrid work environment.
